Single Origin – Rwanda Bwishaza

Single Origin – Rwanda Bwishaza

This delightful Rwandan coffee, has helped us deliver a lovely caramel flavour, something we’ve been searching for!

This lot is one of the Bwishaza co-operatives larger harvests, and it’s processed using a washed double soaked method. Ripe cherry is hand harvested and delivered to the washing station, then flotation in tanks are used as the first step to remove any defects. The coffee cherry is then pulped and fermented for 12-16 hrs in water before being graded in grading channels. The coffee is then soaked a second time for 10-12 hrs before it is dried on raised beds.

We love the clean, bright juicy flavours, particularly caramel, orange and black tea.

Grinds explained

We do sell pre ground coffee and all of our freshly roasted beans can be ground to suit your brew method, although we highly recommend purchasing a good quality burr grinder, and grinding coffee fresh for best results.

We offer espresso (fine grind) for your home espresso machine or stovetop, and filter/cafetière (medium to coarse) grind for filter machines, pour over, and cafetière brew methods.

You will find more delicate flavours and higher caffeine in our light roast coffee, while a medium ‘Italian style’ roast will have a more tobacco flavour from the longer roast profile.

We cannot guarantee that the espresso grind will work with all coffee machines due to differences in pressure and basket size.
